Compost is the most straightforward soil improvement you can make to your property. Whether you are turning it directly into existing garden beds, spreading a thin layer across a tired lawn, or blending it into custom potting mixes, it works to improve your soil. It does this by naturally injecting organic matter back into the earth, which feeds beneficial soil microbes and improves your yard’s natural moisture retention without the need for chemical inputs.

For smaller landscaping jobs or targeted applications, we stock Early Rise 35L bagged compost. Early Rise is an Alberta brand that has been sourcing locally from Alberta peatlands and producing organic soil products for over 60 years. These 35L bags come in four specific formulations — Standard Compost, Mushroom Compost, Composted Steer Manure, and Composted Sheep Manure — allowing you to pick the exact nutrient profile your plants need. They are a practical choice for container gardening, raised vegetable beds, or topping up a few localized perennial spots without dealing with a large pile on your driveway.

If you are tackling a major yard overhaul, our bulk compost is a dark, finely screened organic material. It features a guaranteed minimum nutrient analysis of 1.0% Nitrogen, 0.3% Phosphorus, and 0.4% Potassium, with a minimum of 36% total organic matter. This balance makes it well suited for rebuilding depleted garden beds and supporting heavy-feeding vegetable patches. It also gives newly laid turf a strong nutrient foundation heading into the growing season.

A quick note on loading up: if your project requires less than one full cubic yard, you are welcome to drive right into our West Edmonton yard to pay and load up your truck or trailer directly.

For larger volumes, we keep our delivery and packaging options flexible. Whether your project needs loose bulk yards dumped right on the driveway or Big Bags dropped precisely where you need them, we handle delivery across Edmonton, St. Albert, Sherwood Park, Spruce Grove, and surrounding areas.

Common Uses:

No-Till Top Dressing: Spread a thin layer directly over established lawns or flower beds — rain and routine watering will wash the nutrients down into the root zone over time.
Reclaiming Compacted or Depleted Soil: Mix one part compost to three parts existing soil to restore drainage and improve soil structure in heavy clay or worn-out garden beds.
Backyard Edibles: Work a generous layer into vegetable gardens, berry patches, and herb beds before spring planting to support strong crop yields without relying on synthetic fertilizers.
