Washed Paver Sand Edmonton — Bedding Layer for Patios & Pavers

Washed Paver Sand is a coarse, angular 5mm sand used as a bedding layer underneath paving stones and as a levelling base for patios and artificial turf. The grain is washed clean and angular rather than rounded, so pavers settle into the bed and stay level without shifting.

Beyond bedding pavers, the same sand works for mixing concrete, bricklaying, stucco, general masonry, and loosening clay-heavy garden beds. For filling the joints between paving stones, use polymeric sand instead. Polymeric sand hardens when wet and locks the pavers in place, which is what keeps weeds and ants out of the joints. Paver Sand isn’t the right choice for joints or for children’s sandboxes.

Common Uses:

• Paver & Patio Bedding: The primary use. Levelled out as a 1-2 inch layer that paving stones, slabs, or artificial turf get set on top of.
• Concrete & Masonry Work: Mixed into concrete, used for stucco work, bricklaying, and general masonry applications.
• Garden Bed Conditioning: A scoop or two worked into clay-heavy soils helps loosen them up and improve drainage in flower beds and vegetable gardens.
