Washed Rock — often called river rock — is a clean, naturally rounded stone sorted by size for landscape and drainage projects. Shaped by water erosion over long periods, these stones have smooth surfaces free of sharp, jagged edges or fractured faces. This rounded shape makes the material practical: it allows water to flow through the gaps freely while providing a clean, natural look that works well in both decorative garden beds and sub-surface drainage projects.

We stock this aggregate in four specific sizes to match the requirements of your job: 20mm for tight garden borders, pathways, and dog runs where a smaller stone is easier on paws; 40mm as a versatile, all-purpose ground cover around trees and foundations; 40-60mm to add distinct visual weight around dry creek beds and landscape features; and 50-100mm as a large accent stone for managing heavy water runoff in drainage swales.

Unlike crushed quarry stone, these river rocks are pre-washed to remove the bulk of heavy silt and dirt before delivery. While a light film of dust from transport is normal, a quick rinse or the first rainfall will clear it to reveal the natural mix of earth tones beneath. Because this is a raw, naturally sourced product, slight variations in the colour blend and individual stone sizes are completely normal from batch to batch.
